Accounting Assistant

We are currently looking for a detail-oriented individual to assist with the day-to-day accounting and administrative duties within a CPA firm.   Responsibilities include:

  • Provide general accounting and administrative support
  • Full accounting cycle, handle taxes and year end reports
  • Utilize software for word processing, spreadsheets and in preparing various documents
  • Assist in payroll system and administration
  • Execute basic bookkeeping duties, such as accounts payable and receivable when needed
  • Carry out other tasks related to accounting, finance, or admin that may be assigned from time to time
  • Filing documents and maintaining filing system

  Requirements  

  • Post secondary education or certification in Accounting or equivalent experience
  • Two to three years of experience with general administration
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Excel and other M.S. Office Suite programs
  • Previous reception experience with multiple phone lines is an advantage
  • Very accurate with keen attention to detail
  • Knowledge of CaseWare is an asset
