Finance Manager

Our client, a leading business magazine in Toronto, is seeking a Finance Manager who will collaborate with the executive management team to analyze department finances and develop budgets that will keep the company’s costs down.

 

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Advise on appropriate business planning and help in decision-making processes to ensure that the business is financially successful
  • Collate, prepare, and interpret reports, budgets, accounts, commentaries, and financial statements
  • Undertake strategic analysis and assist with strategic planning
  • Producing long-term business plans
  • Undertake research into pricing, competitors and factors affecting performance
  • Manage budgets, control income, cash flow and expenditure
  • Develop and manage financial systems/models
  • Carry out business modelling and risk assessments
  • Liaise with management, staff, and other colleagues

  • Qualifications:

  • BS/MA degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • Prior experience as a Financial Manager for a minimum of 5 years
  • Experience in the financial sector with previous possible roles such as financial analyst
  • Extensive understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns
  • Proficient use of finance software
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Able to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are used
  • A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
